Films must receive at least 1,500 ratings in order to rank in the Bottom 100.
Saving Christmas just beats the notorious Birdemic: Shock And Terror, which has 1.8 stars, for the title, and is 22 spots ahead of From Justin To Kelly (2.1 stars) and 66 spots ahead of Gigli (2.3 stars).
In the Darren Doane directed flick, ‘Kirk is enjoying the annual Christmas party extravaganza thrown by his sister until he realizes he needs to help out Christian, his brother-in-law who has a bad case of the bah-humbugs,’ according to IMDb.
‘Kirk’s fresh look at Christmas provides Christian the chance to see Christ is where He has always been: at the center of our Christmas celebrations and traditions.’
Getting in character: The 44-year-old actor in a scene from the film, which hit theatres November 14 and currently boasts 0% on Rotten Tomatoes
Kirk Cameron, 44, has been promoting the film heavily via social media, and told his Facebook fans: ‘All of you who love Saving Christmas – go rate it at Rotten Tomatoes right now and send the message to all the critics that WE decide what movies we want our families to see!
‘If 2,000 of you (out of almost 2 million on this page) take a minute to rate Saving Christmas, it will give the film a huge boost and more will see it as a result!’
It seemed his plan worked briefly, as he then posted: ‘You just drove the Rotten Tomato rating to an all-time, soaring high of 94%!
‘Now the haters and atheists are coming out of the woodwork, attempting to hammer your good work (they rallied to drop your rating super low). They are attempting, once again, to ruin Saving Christmas for everyone.’
Out and about: The Growing Pains star promoting his film in New York on November 14
It’s not clear if the movie’s Rotten Tomatoes rating did actually get higher, but a week following the post, it is back at 0%.
However, it seems not all hope has been lost, as Kirk announced on Wednesday that ‘nearly 100 new theaters will be getting Saving Christmas beginning Friday!
‘And thanks to your incredible support, nearly 200 of the original theaters will still have Saving Christmas showing for a fourth week!’
